The South Plainfield Public Library’s eLibrary and Online Database pages offer links to a wide variety of databases and other online resources. With an internet connection, a computer or compatible device, and your library card number, you have free access to a wealth of information, learning, and entertainment!

Finding Children’s Books on eLibraryNJ

Free ebook and audiobook downloads from eLibraryNJ (Overdrive) aren’t just for grown-ups! eLibraryNJ also offers a nice selection of audiobooks and ebooks for kids of all ages. (Teens, too!) You can use the search box to find a specific title or author. But what if you want to browse everything that’s available for a specific age group? Here’s how to do it!

Sign in before you search or browse to see all titles available to you. On the login page, choose Libraries of Middlesex Automation Consortium from the dropdown menu.

Then enter your library card barcode number and PIN in the box. (Your default PIN is the last 4 digits of the telephone number we have on file for you. If you have any problems logging in, don’t hesitate to call the Circulation Desk at (908) 754-7885 ext. 2 to have your PIN reset.)

Once you are logged in, you search for authors or titles in the search box. On the search results page, use the left-hand menu to narrow your search to AUDIOBOOK or EBOOK. Next, choose an INTEREST LEVEL and/or TEXT DIFFICULTY to see titles for a specific age group:

The resulting list will show you all relevant items – including those that are not currently available.  Items which not currently available will have the headphone icon grayed out; the icon will be dark on those which are currently available: Click on AVAILABLE NOW to limit your results to items you can check out immediately:

You can browse featured titles by clicking on Kids or Teens from the menu bar:
